Putting the icing on the cake at British Farming Awards

Herdwatch proudly sponsored the Farmers Guardian ‘s British Farming Awards held in the National Conference Centre in Birmingham this year. We were invigorated by the positivity, great thinking and work that is being done by Farmers throughout Britain. Over 700 farmers and industry professionals attended the awards which showcased the innovation and achievements of farmers across the industry.

Herdwatch sponsored the British Farming Awards ‘Digital Innovator of the Year’ category because we felt we needed to recognise the farmers that were doing their bit to dispel the myth that farmers are not “Techy” and were, like us, trying to push the industry on.

Congratulations to Will Evans who was British Farming Awards Digital Innovator of the Year.  Will won the award for his podcast Rock and Roll Farmer. The idea for his podcast came about from being frustrated at how farmers are often portrayed in the media, he came up with the idea of interviewing farmers and those involved in agriculture to dispel some of the myths that have surrounded food production.

Silver Winner- Cannon Hall Farm

Richard Nicholson from Cannon Hall Farm won the silver award for opening up their farm to the world using all social media platforms. They are best known for their Facebook live broadcasts which show life around the farm at the busiest times.
